Later it was renamed in 1957 after the famous hunter-turned-conservationist Jim Corbett, who played a crucial role in its establishment. Sprawled in an area of 520 square kilometres, well known for its diversified flora and fauna.

Prevalent wildlife- Bengal tiger, Indian elephant, Leopard, Indian wild boar, chital, Sambar deer, Goral, Sambar deer etc.
